After the Toy Rally, I went home, collapsed from exhaustion, then took off Sunday morning for a week-long cruise to relax...... I just got back a few hours ago, and I wanted to once again say "THANK YOU" to EVERYONE who supported and participated in the 2011 “South Florida Exotic Car Toy Rally, to benefit Toys for Tots”!!

This year, we set some impressive records; over 200 exotic cars, over $21,000 in cash donations, and THREE truckloads of toys!!! YAAAYY!!! According to the Marines on site at the Toy Rally, we are now THE LARGEST single contributor to Toys for Tots in south Florida – even bigger than the boat parade!! This is an amazing accomplishment, and certainly makes a difference in a LOT of kid’s lives!!! And, THIS is what it is all about. We are SO fortunate, and despite all of the BS, agony, stress, work, a-holes, and effort to put this all together, it is amazing to know we make such a substantial difference in so many young lives.

As always, there are some specific sponsors and people that went ‘above and beyond’ to make it all happen:

*All of the volunteers the morning of the Toy Rally that ensured everyone was in the right place at the right time.
*Sgt. Edward Chaves-Velando along with BSO and Hallandale PD for once again organizing and providing an amazing escort.
*The Westin Diplomat resort and Spa Golf Club, for such a beautiful venue and breakfast.
*MAD Studios, for all of the print materials.
*Ferrari of Ft. Lauderdale, for always providing whatever is necessary to ensure the event is a success, the BSO escort, raffle prizes, lunch, and more.
*Warren Henry Jaguar & Lamborghini Palm Beach, for providing the gift bags, such great raffle prizes, and a generous donation.
*The Collection, The Ferrari Club of America – Florida region, Boat Pix, Morlin Hospitality Management, and Watch-U-Want for their generous donations, and for being Gold and Platinum sponsors.
*Goodyear Tire, for donating a blimp ride that raised $1,200.
*Michael Vecellio, an unsung hero, who walked up at the Toy Rally and handed in a donation check for $2,000 ‘just because’.
*All of the Silver sponsors, for supporting and sponsoring the event.
*The USMC, for administering such a worthy charity, as well as for serving our country so that we are all free to enjoy such privileges of a day like the Toy Rally.
*And, certainly the guys behind the scenes that help get everything done……..the Toy Rally planning committee; Bill Brennan, Scott Houser, Robert Mathias, Scottie Saidel, and Sgt. Edward Chaves-Velando.
*Last, but certainly not least, all of YOU!!

Oh, and one HUGE thank you to the man upstairs, who gave me new found faith after clearing the rain away long enough to have spectacular weather!!

I truly hope everyone had a good time and sincerely appreciate your support!! If you have any pictures, please post them up here, and PLEASE burn a CD for me, so I can get them up on the Toy Rally website!! PLEASE!!

Once again, thank you for your support and participation! Happy Holidays!!

and of course...... A great big thanks to Fred Burton for putting it all together. While it take more than one person and organization to put an event such as this together... Fred is the firm anchor, director and choreographer that in the end makes it work.

Thanks again Fred... you helped make the holidays much brighter for many S. Fla kids and put together an event that was enjoyed by many.

    Awesome!

I was wondering what happened to you. I'm dying to see some of the aerial footage/pics. I keep talking about the size of this event and nothing captures it. Hopefully the aerial from the helicopter will convey just how massive this event is.

I'm already working on securing a ride for next year! ;)

Great job Fred and everyone involved. Thanks for the opportunity to join you.

Considering contributions to Toys For Tots is seriously down this year, you all should be proud of your involvement. A smile on any child's face is worth the effort.

    Good job.

    This thread deserves more pariticpation.

I had a great time at the Toy Rally this year. Well coordinated, and well stocked with food both for breakfast and lunch! I know the kids will have a better holiday with all the toys and donations, so it is well worth it. I was participating solo since nobody else at home wanted to leave at 5 AM, but this way I got to play my Zappa!

Sorry. I was playing Frank Zappa's CD entitled "Sheik Yerbouti". It features such classics as Baby Snakes, Dancin' Fool, and Yo Mama. Not quite as good as Zappa's more popular CD's like Apostrophe, or You are what you is.

I dropped by in Ft. Lauderdale and thought this was an impressive charitable event. Kudos for putting it together. I'm hoping to have a prancing horse next year so I can join the fun. An S600 just wouldn't fit in with that line up.
