Well, looks like spring fever is messing with my head.....I am considering selling my 355 and purchasing a Challange Stradale......
    What say ye?

BTW, here's the lowdown on my 355 Spider

1998 6 speed Rossa Corsa w/tan interior (the guys at Foreign Cars Italia said is was the nicest 355 they have ever had in inventory)
    9000 miles on the ticker
Engine was out back in October for a full service at FCI (8,700 miles)
(Timing Belts, drive belts, tensioners, full fluid swap, etc..)
    New Michelin Pilot Sports
Carbon Fiber interior pieces from MA Carbon
    Hill Engineering Skid plates
    Tubi exhaust
    Hyper Flow cats
    Challenge rear grill
Ultimate pedals (Driver & passenger sides)
    Yoshi's beautiful Scuderia Ferrari badges
    Factory Halon fire extinguisher
    New Optima red top battery
    Car is: MINT, MINT, MINT
Also, has a Badass stereo/CD system

So, I have around $115,000 in her....What should she bring?

    TIA, Jati

If you want to sell it in a reasonasble time lets use my recent 1996 355 spider sale (red/tan). I sold it for $73,000 in about three weeks. It has 23,000 miles and needs 30K service. I would add $5000 per year, $6000 +/- for service and the low miles has to be worth at least $5000. Looks like a 90 to 100K car. Longer marketing time (six months to a year or Ferrari time) may get you closer to 100K but for a reasonable marketing time, I think you are closer to $90,000. These numbers are a retail sale. A dealer would be far less. Good luck. There are a lot of cars for sale now.

I am awaiting the dealer's "selling" price on the CS....If they get where I need to be, my 355 will be posted on FerrariAds this weekend....anyone looking needs to seriously consider mine...no stories, all docs, wonderful example of a "US" 355 spider. Would love to see it go to a fellow Ferrari Chat member.
    TIA, Jati

The boss (wife) has convinced me to go for the 360 Spider, so my CS dreams are over for now. I did get a decent deal on an 04 "loaded" red/tan 360 Spider. My 355 spider will be on a truck headed west on Tuesday unless someone here wants her. I hate to see the 355 go, it's such a perfect example...I do however like the idea of a warranty & a newer version Ferrari.
For anyone looking for a CS, Boardwalk Ferrari in Plano TX has a nice one....I almost bought it yesterday.

    Jati,

Your 355 spider is worth about $94k to $97k out here in sunny Southern California, especially if it's a 98 1/2 or newer.

The call of the CS is tough to ignore, but the convertible thing is also super-sweet and that's probably where the boss' call came from.

My plan is to play the 355 spider thing until the 430 spider drops to about $170k. Yeah, I'm guessing that's about 3-5 years from now. That or wait to see what happens to 360 spiders once the 430 spider is running on the streets. Like I say, it's a plan. I wonder what the next model past the 430 will be?

Ya gotta leave yourself something to look forward to. Or not :)
