    Toyota is getting an early start on their new car for next season. They will start testing the TF106 starting this tuesday at Barcelona. Here is a link to the article.

    Coming of a fairly "strong" year in 05, I think it may be bad news for the others that Toyota ALREADY has their 2006 car/engine combo on track testing. They look to be leaps and bounds ahead of the others, and with various new regulations (V8, tire changes, etc.), every little bit more they learn at the track while the others are still building their cars will be a HUGE advantage, as long as they don't screw it up (a la the 2004 Williams).

    I expect 2006 to be the year that the Mike Gascoyne effect kicks in strongly. Those who have been paying attention know that he has been the driving force behind the startling improvement of more than one F1 team. Call me crazy, but I think he deserves a share of the credit for Renault's championship this year.

    Toyota may surprise some people next year.
