All, I finally got my car to a shop to look at my AC. I have read your responses to my previous post about my expansion valve. My car is a 85 TR and does not have an orifice type expansion valve. It has the Borden tube type expansion valve with a disc on one end. I can see the valve since it is NOT in the AC box. All of your advices so far recommended me to reverse flush which was not successful by my mechanic. However, we can't get to the expansion valve because there seems to be a heater hose right in front of it. Removing the dash is big $.... I would prefer trying to get that hose out first. How to remove the heater hose? Anybody with a diagram of this area (exploded view would be great)? Any other suggestions? Worst to come, my mechanic will take the dash out (where to start with this job? exploded diagram?)... Thanks, Nick, who needs AC to run in South Fl.
