    My A/C is cool but not cold. Definitely not enough for the weather here in NC. I want to add some coolant or convert it from R12 to the R134 if it hasn't been done. Where are the two inlet ports and which one is the high side and low side? I see two ports that look like the old R12 type on the compressor but it has been 20+ years since I have seen that style and I am not sure which would be the high side.

    There should also be some (cast) markings on the back of the compressor housing:

    Discharge = high side

    Suction = low side

    On my TR, the (R12) charging ports are part of the metal fittings at the compressor where the lines attach. You can see them in this photo -- they have the round black cover caps:

    I thionk you are trying to locate the ports to see if they still have the r12 valves or converted- right? If its r12, you still have some in there, if you say its still cool/cold. How will you remove the freon then? Cant pssssssssst it into the air, you know.

    If converted, youre in luck, as you of course, can add more r134a, or go with HC's.

    Good luck.

    I have a recycling/ evacuation system. To convert it I will just suck it out, change the fittings, evacuate the system and then recharge with the R134A
