    Hello
I have found a garage that quoted me a good price on a major service on my testarossa.
I have decided to go with him instead of trying it myself.
He told me that when we change the belts, we need to also change the water pump. He explained why to me but I didn't understand.
Does anyone know about this out of curiosity sake, and also a new water pump could be upwards of $1000.
    Thanks. Brent.

The water pump on the Testarossa is a chain driven unit. You do not replace the water pum..you rebuild it while the engine is out. The kit is about 250 bucks and it comes with all you need. Be sure your tech gives the chassis and engine number when ordering the rebuild kit because there were changes to the design of the seals. Its an easy thing to do and good insurance. The last thing you want, is to do the major, put the motor in the car, drive home, and find coolant on the floor. Then its engine out all over again.

Im with Howie........kit the waterpump while the engine out. :D:D

Example- I did a cam belt on my own daily driver around 6 months ago and I didnt replace the water pump. Cutting costs, ya know. Anyways, last week guess what starts leaking? The bloody WATERPUMP!:rolleyes:

Luckily it is only a 2 hour job to remove and replace that waterpump. ;);)

Testarossa is NOT a 2 hour job to remove and replace. So I would do it. You just never know when it could leak. :):)

    Thanks.
I'll talk to the tech about a rebuild and pay attention to the proper kit. Thanks. Brent.
