Having recently done a clutch on my TR, I spent significant time trying to locate the proper clutch alignment tool. While it has a part number in the WSM, I could find no dealer or independent that stocked it, although one place did tell me that the last known price in their computer for the Ferrari tool was $660.

On a suggestion from Tom Jones at SportAuto (possibly the most helpful and patient man on the East coast), I checked with a local parts house since Tom said he had a plastic tool that he thought was from an old Chevy that worked. I took a clutch disc in to see what fit.

Turns out Parks Auto Parts (a US national chain for those elsewhere) found one that is a perfect fit. The vendor is shown as "Perfect" on their receipt and the part number is 69-5301.

Thought you guys would like to know as the total cost was $1.83 plus tax. :)

Charles, man your timing is perfect!!!. I'm digging into a complete fuel injection cleanup/repair operation (see my earlier post yesterday) after having just mounted my clutch assembly. I haven't reassembled for obvious reasons but I'm about to get to it in about a week. I was going to guts the alignment but I could use a little "guaranteed" luck the way things have been going. I'm going to check out the tool ASAP.
BTW, where abouts you located? I'm central PA.

Oh well, a bit far. Figured if we were close enough I'd swing by, one easterner to another. By the way, I ordered the part and should have in a few days. Thanks for sharing the success.
