Hello I have a 1990 TR that had an issue with the clutch hanging up. Replaced the clutch, MC and the flexible hose running to the bell housing because the fittings were stripped. To make a long story short, it is still dragging and I finally noticed some leaking at the union where the steel line in the chasis connects to the flexible hose. Like I said the flexible hose is new, but the flared end of the line on the chassis is slightly different. Can this account for the leaking. There does not appear to be any cracks in the line. Can the inverted flare flatten out over time not forming a good seal. I am posting a picture of 2 fittings. The one on the left is the old line and the one on the Right is the new line. They are not the unions at the chassis but they are identical, because the flexible hose screws into itself. Do you think that this difference is the cause for the leak? If so I will try to match flares. If not , any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Brent. Image Unavailable, Please Login
