Work Shop Manual. You can buy online as CD. One thing, I did mine twice without a lift, it is possible. Check out some of my prior posts. If you get stuck PM me.

Never did a 512TR, I know the engine has to come out from the top. The frame does not drop out like a TR. Do a search, Someone has done it!

there is a link on here to somebody's instructions. It's what I used. just search for tr engine diy or something along those lines. Only problem is that those directions were for a euro TR without the air pump. I missed that step and it got hung up on the air pump bending my shifter rod.

also, make your own engine cradle. I used someone elses instruction that let you adjust the cradle up and down. they made mating the engine so much easier.

I did the same on first engine drop! second time removed the shifter rod. Before re installing the engine I removed the air pump, and made nice block off plates of stainless. Saved all the air pump stuff nice and tidy. If someone wants to put it back on, very easy.

the wsm has a very good (but brief) set of step by step engine removal procedures.

they are taped up on my wall and referenced many times while removing the engine.

they will keep you from forgetting something and doing an “oh, ****”.

Go slow - use care - ask questions - never force anything.

    Cheers,
    Vincenzo

It is strange that Ferrari put that in wsm for the testarossa but did not include the same in 512tr wsm
