I use a narrow block of wood that fits inside the lift point channels. Does your car have these?

Yep. I carved similar stuff out of rubber blocks for my other cars (more clearance), but so far I only lifted the back of the TR (rear wheels on the lift) for oil changes.
I'd like to lift the whole car to detail the undercarriage. Based on that 2 post pic putting the pads behind the sill lip should be fine, but better to ask before.

Otherwise wood would probably work better in the channels as it would deform less.

Thanks Brian. Since it's a scissor lift and the clearance isn't much those spots would be more difficult.

Passenger side - can I put the pads behind the sill lip to the right of the jack point on the front and left of the jack point in the back?
More or less similar to that 2 post pic.

I wouldn’t. Just inboard of the lifting channels or where the yellow circles are. On the front anywhere along that angled piece where the yellow circle is is probably ok. I use a scissor lift and have no problems reaching those areas.

Unless I'm mistaken the channels cover the entire width of highlighted green region. So, aligned with the lifting channel, passed the sill lip, the pad would rest
on the edges of the lifting channel. Guess it can take it without bending them but in this case it'd be better to do what Raysur mentioned and put a piece of wood or a narrow pad in the channel stacked on the main pad, so the pad doesn't push on the channel edges only.

Had these small pucks which fit into the jack locations. Might do that.

My ramp extensions are about 2" thick and there's not much clearance on the front, but I'll check the yellow locations again.

The channels are to locate a lifting device. They are not to be lifted on.

OK. Is the "channel" the red or the green stuff?

The pads on those other scissor lifts look like they're in line with the jacking points and sitting over the "channels", sill lip etc.

The OEM jack does fit in the channel.

The ‘red stuff’ should bear the weight

I just use a hockey puck on the yellow circle/just inboard to channels.

I just realized by channel you meant the entire green are in your earlier photo. The lifting channel the rest of us are talking bout is the notch in your last photo with the red and green. That narrow spot.

I meant the same thing by channel as you did. There was some confusion because of the green arrows I used to indicate the edges of the channel/notch - see new pic.

The original green highlighted region was a different thing - I asked if that region can bear weight because
I wanted to put the pads immediately to the left and right of the red channel/notch in order to avoid potentially bending the white edges and sill lip.

I'll either use secondary pads to fit the notch and push on the red region or use the yellow circles.
