My TR's main battery-to-engine connector is falling to pieces. It's a gorgeous day and I wanted to go for a drive, but got the "click..click..ckick". The batter and it's connections checks out fine. I think that the plastic connector (like and electric fork truck, etc.) is the culprit. Is there a way to replace the connector with something more durable?

I REALLY wanna drive the car since it's a RARE sunny day...but I'm over-anxious and don't want to work on it right now. So I thought I'd post the question. Thank You to all who respond.

Cut off the plastic piece and solder on battery cable lug ends (heavy eyelets). Slide a piece of 3/4" heater hose over one side, bolt the lugs together using a nylock nut on the bolt. Slide the heater hose over the bolted connection and secure to the frame with a couple of wire ties.
For years those plastic pieces were NA from Ferrari and this is what I was doing to get the cars back on the road. Not pretty, but who will crawl under the car to critique? This keeps it a removeable connection so engine removal can be done without a major ordeal.
