Guys, I have a question.... The front spoiler on my TR has been clipped a number of times by awful speed bumps that fester the London streets, so at the moment it has a few chips-nothing major but enough to annoy me, so should I repaint it or go back to black? Its a 86 Euro car. With that in mind, should I also go back to black on the sills as well as currently they are the same as the car. Would be interested in some views. Thanks Pete (Who is praying for some decent weather in the UK so he can go out and play!)
I'm 50/50 on this, but it also depends on exterior body color -- e.g., a nice dark silver or gray exterior is very much complemented by the black IMO. On the lighter colors (e.g., white), it might make the coachwork look a bit "bulkier". We need before and after shots of Bruce's ex-yellow TR to compare!
Thanks for the comments so far...its a tough one. Steve I think you are right on the color of the car......but with mine being a big banana, I just don't know which is best...???? Pete
After debating painting the trim on my white TR, I have come to one conclusion. In my opinion, body color-matched sills and front lip look great on a TR with upgraded wheels, I.E. 18" HREs, Kinesis or Speedlines. The whole package comes together and updates the look of the car. If the TR in question has the original Ferrari wheels however, I would opt to keep the factory look, and leave the trim black. Now the question becomes: To upgrade wheels and paint trim, or leave the TR Factory-spec? Also, Do the modifications affect the value of the car? Alex
Yea! Fight the power, paint thoes skirts and spoiler! Actually I am looking to do a 512 TR nose conversion that will bolt on and off. But in the mean time the next time I scrape I will paint it white to match. Christian
