There are numerous salvage yards in the US that deal in TR's. I am sure there are a few about.
GOOGLE T. Rutlands, GT Car Parts or Specialized Italian Recycling.

I would prefer aluminum. cools down faster than stainless steel.
    and then polish it

    Dear Ferraristi,

I would try Norwoods. They used to sell a carbon fiber version and I'm sure have a few old OEM's lying around.

Also, with their turbo modifications, they remove the whole airbox assembly including this plate. Again, I'm sure they have a few lying around.

These plates, or at least my original plate is a little more complicated than a plain piece of aluminium. It is a sandwich with white asbestos in between. Take care if handling the plate as the asbestos can make it way out through the mounting holes :(
