Check this link out...nice video too! http://www.comcast.net/providers/fan/popup.html?v=48557663&config=/config/common/fan/sports.xml
Awesome!!! Not to surprised though..... The TR made quite a impact during its debut.... It's the stuff dreams are made of IMO..
Why not? Is it not a Ferrari? I still believe that it is a great car. The video does not work for me. I have to log in to get acces to the information. Is there another route to the video?
I like how people project their views on everyone else.... Please do not speak on my behalf. That clip was also on the Fifth Gear on Speedvision that aired on 11/8/05. I believe it is a 2004 show. Nice clip. The video works sometimes and others not. Try it again later. It wouldn't stream the first time I tried to play it, but the 3rd time it did.
The TR is an awesome car. It came out at the right time, with the right look and the right attitude...excess! The lines of the TR have and will age well and the overall performace will hold it's own as well. IMO it was sort of the first ferrari that "put it in your face" attitude wise and had the performace to back it up. Later cars obviously held their own/exceled performace wise but didn't have that "edge". It was a rare combination that will go down as a great classic. A TR is on my short list
The TR is a great machine!! I think they are one best cars ever. yes they are getting a bit old by todays standards..but there is still nothing to this very day that can come close to it in the looks department. Its just so damn aggressive its not even funny. It means business. I think they are one of the best GT Ferrari's ever. On the highway they are king. Around town a bit of a work out to handle, but that is not what they were designed for.
More and more I find myself attracted to the TR. Back in the mid 80s when they were launched I felt differently. But I can see past the cheese grater grills, and the width has grown on me. Everything I've read on the performance has been positive and there are very few discussions on "weak points. I see myself in a TR long before a 348 or 355.
I eat, live, and breath TRs. I worship the ground they roll on. I can't get enough of 'em! And being a TR owner is an honor, and an experience. These cars are just sooo "out there" with their blend of curves and straight lines. That low wide stance...and in black one of the meanest looking cars ever...kinda Darth Vader like. Yes they are getting old, but show me another 21 year old design that ages so well? The myth of TRs being unreliable and having rediculously high maintenance costs is untrue. When properly kept after they are terrific cars in every way. And as enthusiasts come to realize this and actually take a drive one of these cars...you won't be able to keep them away. I think the Testarossa's star is about to shine in the next year or two. And in my opinion it's well deserved and long overdue.
I think the style is still pretty modern, look at the past and current from the rear. The TR has nice character....but you gotta love the 550 as its replacement. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Crap! With all this good press the prices will rise agian and I'll have to wait even longer =) No matter how long though it will be worth it!!
Hmmm...really, I would have guessed a 330 P4 by your screename. BTW, I dont have a comcast account so cant veiw the vid.
I WILL SECOND THAT!!! I think you need to own one for a few years first, then I might listen...? I have had lot's of cars, but NOTHING like a TR!!!
Anything that breaks tradition as much as the TR did on its release is going to polarize people's opinions, and that is definitely the case here. I remember when it came out - the styling was both cheered and lamented. It personally is not my favorite, but my wife loves it and thinks it defines the Ferrari look. There was a black 512TR at Sport Auto in Greeensboro that was just awesome to behold (unfortunately, too much money for me). You have to admit it has a serious presence from the back. One thing is for certain: the design is more "original" than any other Ferrari design, probably of any era.
Not my favorite, not second, third, or even fourth ... but I'm not surprised it's the most popular. It does have a classic Ferrariish design and it is one of the most recognizable Ferrari's, I think it deserves this award.
Aggressive, awesome, extravagant, over the top - TR's are for me the most extreme Ferrari made, maybe not in the power to weight department, but in all other aspects. Definitely my favourite.
The link requires to log in... Not surprised that the TR is the most popular Ferrari.. It is my favorite sports car ever.. That's why I bought one!! Spectacular looks and a flat 12 in the rear..
