My Testarossa has a rear window crack. I purchased a replacement and now I need to install it. I just did a search on replacing it and I could not find a thread that shows step by step how to do it. Does anyone know of one?

One I did find mentioned a special adhesive and a special knife to remove the old adhesive. Does anyone know where I can get these?

What was the cost of the replacement window? Mine has the same thing. Previous owner hadn't learned how to jack up a TR correctly.

I got it for $1100 which was a great deal. I could only find them for $2700 other than that one.

That is a good deal. Based on my observations....I think the seats will come out along with all the back panels & etc. Not a hard job. Just a time consuming one. Service manual should give the procedure. Do you have a manual?

Anyone know of a link on how to remove the leather around the back window? I don't want to damage anything by taking it off wrong.

He guys ... seems to be a "problem" this breaking of rear windows in the TR ...

When I started my thread about it ... there were many members here who stated that this breaking of these expensive windows never happens / happened...

We can now see that it does !

Please read my thread and act accordingly :)

Anyone know where to get the glue and a proper removal knife? I go the replacement glass from FerrParts but I believe it was their last one and they wanted to get rid of it.

From the looks of the design of the window it looks like it has to be simple to replace. Remove, apply adhesive, replace. I could take it but I want to make sure that it is done correctly. The way I look at it is it is already cracked so worst case I remove everything including thew window and then take it to someone to install. That way no damage is done to the interior that I have to replace.

This was cracked when I purchased the car last year but there was damage where you can tell the car was jacked up incorrectly on the right side and the crack is at the bend on the right side so I assume that was the cause. It is hard to believe that if this is so common that no one has posted a replacement guide?
