I was under the impression that post '87 U.S. spec TR's were equipped with DOT required "mouse" seat belts. There is an '88 TR fitted with manual seat belts listed for sale: 1988 Ferrari Testarossa for sale | Hemmings Motor News Which I found odd. I also thought it strange that the lower front valance was colored matched. I've seen several TR's with the lower front valance color matched however none of the official press photos show the cars in this manner. Is this something that owners opted to do@ some point or was this a factory option?
The valance is always black. Period. If it was a US car, it had to have mouse belts at some point. Owner changed the valance so maybe they changed the belts too. If I had a chance, I'd take the stupid mouse out of my car too.
Looks like an early 88 as it has the center lock wheels instead of the 5-lug. Love the wheels. But should have the automatic belts unless it is an import. And yes, a lot of people colormatch the front lip spoiler as well as the side sills. Interesting "harness bar" installed. I would need to see attachment points and how it was integrated. And I also love the strategic placement of the belt over the wear point of the seat bolster. I swear, if I ever decide to sell my car the second pic will be a nice clear close up of that bolster area...
