Hi Romano, yes it's true :) it's not technically extortion, I'm being sarcastic. But they think there are no other ways to get them and that they are ultra rare, so they are forcing you to pay an insane value if you want them. A tiny little kind of extortion... Little do they know they are wildly available at any Fiat dealership!

The ungainly stripes and the non-original Scuderia shields and non-original double high visors caused the wheel to fall off! :)

I saw today in a Swedish Magazine that a Testarossa owner got a World record speeding ticket in ST Gallen Switzerland...100km to fast in a village..299 000 swizz frans.
    Thats about 288 000€ or 316 000$...Mamma mia...Dont drive fast there.

If you drive soooo fast, you will go to court where they define your fine according to your income. Plus they may take your car and you may go to jail. It’s not very different as if you had killed somebody…

that is the reason I hate driving in switzerland

but also I must say: more than 100 km/h too fast in a town/city/village is never acceptable ! ! !

during night I remember once I was driving up- and downhill the gotthard pass to join the formula 1 race in imola and often I have been more than 200 km/h ( legal max. speed that time has been 100 km/h - long ago, today you may go max 80 km/h, so why you need a car/motorcycle with more then 50 hp??? in switzerland you may only use with a TR 3 gears: 1st, second and reverse ) but that was in the early morning, about between 2 and 4 am and none was on the road. but even today the swiss police is checking the speed at this morning time. terrible ! ! !

markus: what will happen if someone has no income because he inherited a lot of money and will not work anymore? and the money brings no interest? so what will do then the swiss court???

    no income - no fine???? :) :) :)

it is a question for the fine of the income, not of the assets? right???

Romano – Not sure what happens then. The system works like this:

    Speeding in a VILLAGE
    1-5 km/h 40.-
    6-10 km/h 120.-
    11-15 km/h 250.-
16 km/h and more: According to the speeding the court defines how many “Tagessätze” (daily rate) you have to pay (there must be a table for that). The “Tagessatz” (daily rate) is calculated according to your income. So you may pay 20 daily rates with CHF 100 or also with CHF 1 000 if you earn more money.

I do not know what the court does if somebody has no income but a large fortune. Maybe you pay nothing or just a lower rate. They can take your car and send you to jail if your speeding is too excessive anyway.

    Markus

PS: This law is absolutely exaggerated. But to understand why it is this way, it is important to know that some years back there were several cases where people (and especially kids!) were killed by persons with excessive speeding.

PSPS: And if somebody is speeding by more than 100 km/h in a village I would question if his brain still works correctly...

absolutely right and 100 points ( from 100 max )

but also: in some larger towns some streets have 3 lines each direction, and when you go in 2nd gear with a high powered car you only accelerate a little, shift in 3rd and you have more than 100 to much
and in the night at about 2 am nobody or nearly nobody is on the street and it is less dangerous driving at that time with 150 km/h then at high noon with 30 km/h
