Noticed that Tire Rack lists BF Goodrich g Force Sports ,sizes 225/50 ZR16 and 255/50 ZR16's, at $77 and $105 respectively. Ratings looked good but sounds too low to be a good replacement for my '89.
Anyone have any experience with these?
    Thanks

    Hey Phil...long time no see.

Mich Pilot Sports seem to be the best option for those stocker wheels at this point. Dunlop SP8000's are also still available for those sizes. Not many options left in this day and age for those sizes at least for a matching set.

Hi Kenny. It's been a great winter so far.. I've had both the 308 and the TR out every week until now.
What got me looking at BF Goodrich was a search for tires for my BMW and they offer replacements for the OEM Dunlop Sports. The user ratings were excellent. I searched thru the "g-Force" sizes and saw both for the TR, but the prices seemed awfully low compared to the Michelins and Dunlops. The Dunlop SP Sport 8000 is probably my choice because I've stayed close to original on the car and at least the sizes are correct. Michelin doesn't appear to offer the rear size.
Do you still have your TR or are you upscale by now?

When I had my '91 TR I bought the Dunlop SP8000's to replace the Goodyears that came with it. The difference in driving and handling was immediate. However, I really noticed the difference in cornering on twisty roads (for a TR) was greatly improved. At 120 to 140mph the car was much more stable and I think the ride was a bit more comfortable, with little road noise (all the better to hear the flat 12). There are probably other good tires out there but the Dunlops work great.

Phil, Mich did make the correct size but was not rated by them for a 10" rim. They only rated it for a 9 or 9.5" wide wheel. Perhaps they stopped making them. As suggested in an earlier post, you may want to call Coker or even the Tire Rack as they may have them but not list them on the their websites due to lack of demand. But if available and Mich did stop making them I'd be weary of the manufacture dates as they may be getting past their shelf life. But fresh Mich PS's are a better tire than the 8000's And, yes, still have the 85 Tr. Love it to death.

Hey guys I work at Coker and am the local Ferrari nut here. If you guys have any questions just let me know I am more than willing to help out, and I also give a discount to FChat members.

To answer the question regarding the wheel size, Michelin does recommend a 9-9.5 rim (even though they are making this tire for the TR w/ a 10" rim), but I have sold this tire to a couple people on this board and have not heard anything back about them not fitting. Also your cost on the front is $217.16, and the rear is $402.28. You can post on here send me a pm, email at [email protected], or call me a 1-800-251-6336 ext.256.
