My Viper GTS woudl do easy 4.2-4.3 0-60secs. I don't think a Viper coupe weights 3800 lbs if I read it right even with a driver.Car weights about 3300 lbs

Jim, those are some very slow times in the testarossa for the 1/4 mile and 0-60. My 76 911s with 160hp posted way better numbers...its ok to push it a little bit ;).

Yeah, there's no way that your GTS went to 60 in 7 seconds.

I found tha Tazzo to be alot more accurate. It was dead on compared to the 1/mile runs while the Gtech showed 3-4mphs more in trapspeed and .1-.2 lower ET. I found out that the Gtech gets affected by wheel sping... The more wheel spin u get the lower the ET and higher the trapspeed would be. Get the Tazzo and you will be happy with it.

According to the manual, the dry wt of the GTS is 3400 lbs, and I have added a roll bar, heavier springs, calipers, rotors, sway bars, harnesses, fire system, etc, plus it had about 12 gal gas. I weigh 180. That's how I got to 3800.

I did starts in 1st gear which just barely spun the tires (very easy on the gas in a Viper, to say the least) then gas it enough to avoid wheelspin. I am not sure how to set the 'pitch' factor. I have lowered the car and it has virtually no nose mvmt on launch, so I used .5 pitch.

It was a very hot day, but ya, those times are a joke. I just thought it interesting that they were comparable. I will play around with some different launches, etc., and read up on pitch factor.

I have ZERO idea how accurate this little meter is, so maybe I will use the stopwatch as a backup but then I have to rely on speedo. Also, I don't see a speed reading on the meter, just the data points later on. I have no idea how it would account for gearing etc. The only thing it calibrates are RPM's, Redline, Vehicle Weight and Pitch Factor.

I will be taking the GTS to Putnam Park on Friday, so I will play around and log some track data. That should be more interesting anyway.

    Jim :)
