Hi Everyone, Does Anyone know of a Car Graphic type business that can make custom decals for use on a track car? I was thinking quality magnetic decals would be an option but stick on/peel off is ok too. I don't need to wrap the car or anything extravagent and would prefer not having to transport the car to an installer etc.. Primarily need to put my company name on the car in a few places and then will add other participating/Company logo's in the future. Thanks, Greg
Most quick print shops can do them. They just need to use UV resistant inks on the graphic. The large Epson Printers have a substrate for exactly this purpose. I'd also think anyone who ca do a car wrap could produce this for you as well. If you want to do it yourself, Mohawk Paper makes a magnetic paper that can be fed through an inkjet printer in sizes up to 11x17 that might do the trick. d
Magnetics tent to fly off. I'd do vinyl. It's cheap and you should be able to do the job yourself. Pull up a few how to videos on proper application. Work with scrap material and there you go. When applying vinyl, I spray quick detailer on the car and wipe it off gently. The vinyl will pull off easier over time.
Thanks Guys, I will go with the Vinyl. That seems to be the best route. Pretty inexpensive. I found a site that you can preview designs too. I may order up some different designs and see which looks best. Bob, I tried the Cheapstickers site but they "stepped out" for a bit...
Definitely don't use magnets. At track speeds, they come off. They are fine for driving on the street if you are delivering pizza. But on the track, at high speed, they come off and can be a hazard. Do use vinyl or another material that sticks. Experiment a little, some go on and come off more easily than others.
you should be able to find a graphic shop near your house to make vinyl. I have used about 4 different local shops for my race cars. I just used this for the graphics on the back of my boat and I thought it was cool how you could design the decals yourself. maybe it would work for you. Boat Graphics and Lettering - BoatUS.com PS I had my graphics in two days in the mail. PSS Installing vynil graphics is simple, you wet the surface with a soapy solution, squegee on the graphic, let dry and pull off the top sheet.
I have magnetic numbers. They work fine because I went with individual numerals. They don't have as much mass. For something as large as a company logo, vinyl stickers are a good choice. Just about any sign shop can make them, but quality will vary greatly. Obviously, the more you order, the cheaper the per unit cost.
Thanks for these suggestions. I will look into these companies. I thought about doing them myself, then thought again..The car looks pretty good and I could certainly imagine someone saying...who the f#$* did your decals man?! So I think I will have someone else do them. But I will steer away from magnetic decals. I dont think that would be a good idea on a track especially with other drivers. I plan to go very fast, so they will fly off : )
I get mine from a buddy who owns a printing shop. He does very nice custom work. email me if you need contact info. paspar22 @ gmail
I went with Choforiagrafix for my last set of numbers. Chose the re-usable vinyl option. Very happy with price, delivery and quality.
