unfortunately that conflicts with an ASRA event at PIR the same time. But its good to know just in case!

I saw the following on the website...

The SECC will also be featuring a "Super Exotic" or Uber category for the purpose of having similar "Super Cars" run in
an exclusive run group with each other. The cars included in the Uber category are:
Porsche Carrera GT, Porsche 959, Porsche GT1, McClaren F1, Mercedes-Benz SLR, Pagani Zonda, Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari F50,
    Ferrari F40, BMW M1, Bugatti Veyron, Saleen S7, Maserati MC12, Koenigsegg CCR, Mercedes-Benz CLK-DTM

Now, I am curious why you are having a run group that is determined by car, not by driver experience?

The only reason I ask is because I was out at the Porsche club event at PIR earlier this month. I run in the Advanced group and have been doing track events and performance driving schools since 1998. I actually saw a picture of my car, from the March 4-5 event, on your website. I was in the Black E46 M3 (#12 on the windshield).

While at PIR I saw a lot of guys in the beginner and novice group and they had some serious horsepower with them. They all seemed very nice and eager to learn from their instructors. I only had a chance to speak with a few of them very briefly, but the gentleman in the SL65 was very friendly and we got along pretty well. He had mentioned that this was the first time that your club had been out to a track event (aside from 1/4 mile events).

I would think that by putting all of these "uber" exotics on the track without considering the driver's experience is an invitation for disaster. An example of something like this was when the driver of the Carerra GT spun his car on the very first lap that he was on the track. Now imagine if he was surrounded by other exotics on the track and the red mist was blocking his vision. Damage could be very severe.

I hope I am wrong, I really do. I'd come by to check out the event, but I will be out at PIR that weekend with the BMW CCA.

    Best of luck.

GNALUZU, thanks for your concern and we are going to address that with each individual. I don't know just how many super-exotic cars we'll have out there. The point we're making is you can feel comfortable knowing your Super America is not going to be on the track at the same time as cars costing four times less. Experience has every little to do with it. We have so many run groups that nobody will be in danger.

I don't see why it would concern anyone that their car was on the track with cars that cost 4 times less. Track days are about fun, not penis size or what you drive.

It is all about fun. That's the whole reason for doing this event. The only reason I bring price up is to encourage people with expensive and rare automobiles to come out and enjoy themselves. It's consideration for sharing a rare opportunity to see these cars in action. No egos here.

Yes it is always a worry for owners to track their cars.

I'm not too sure how many McLarens, Enzos and Paginis will show up...but I think if you give the local Ferrari club their own run group, you might see a few!
