My Stradale doesn't have 3m on the hood. My spyder does. Both will be a hoot...but curious what to expact. I have 3m on the rocker panels of the Stradale so that's covered at least.

I know..track the Stradale...that's what it's made for blah blah blah...

But still looking for your experience

If you're out there and following others you'll get peppered with out 3M. You may want to do a quick install or you'll be looking at a respray down the road.

I have tracked my 360 a few times and know every inch of the car, I never experienced rock chips on the track. It is always good not to follow cars off line as there are lots of debris, otherwise the line is fairly clean and free of rocks.

I think srfcity is right. You'd probably be better off to purchase one for your stradale, that will save you money down the road and provide peace of mind while on the track.

If you stay in the line AND everybody else stays in the line, then you'll only get one or two small chips. However, I've never heard of everyone staying on the line... so, expect a few more. And realize that a lot more is a possibility, even if you manage to stay in the line... if someone comes back on track in front of you... not much you can do.

Then there's tire rubber. Won't chip your paint, but will leave black marks that are a pain to clean off. The 3M film actually makes them a bit harder to get off... but then you're rubbing on and using harsher chemicals on the 3M film, not your paint.

I highly recommend 3M film for cars that are tracked. HOWEVER, many many people track their cars without it, and their cars still look beautiful, and they may repaint the nose every 3-5 years. Its all YOUR level of "perfectionism".

And of course, the Langka stuff is WONDERFUL at making touch-ups you do to fill rock chips almost invisible. They also are Ferrari Club (FCA) sponsors and they make a donation to the club if you visit their website through this link and eventually make a purchase.
