I disagree Simon, depreciation is significant for most cars in most countries. e.g. in Germany there is a particularly tough TUV inspection when a car gets to 5 years old - this slams the resale price.
Well I would like the opinion of probably the best qualified amongst us. At this point Jon has a very high proliferation of very well priced Euro's and Yanks in comparison to high end ( I hate that yank term) Asian or domestic. On another tangent, though still connected to this discussion, why does he continue to run an Asian as his GG/GAD car when a multitude of similar spec Euro's and indeed Tesla, are at his beck and call.
I can tell you why *I'D* take it...because the GG roads are so crap and it's a car I wouldn't worry about destroying, since it's probably built like a tank.
Yeah, a lot of dodgy roads left many a mark on the underneath the QV, not so much the 355 due to the stiffer springs , but it still hit the road every now and then Something you guys going on the GG for the first time might want to consider ..... beef up the springs !!
Yep. Never again. 3 years ago. I’ll need to repaint it one day.....sigh Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's odd....the front of my cars never got a single mark. Maybe because you're TOO CHEAP to get a vinyl wrap!
Not cheap, just time poor, which is why it hasn't been repainted yet. Once repainted, I won't be getting it wrapped anyway. The vinyl rolls aren't wide enough to do a 575 in one piece and I don't like it looking piecemeal
Having to clean this **** off was a pain too . Just not enough hours in the day Image Unavailable, Please Login
front of my car was unmarked from the GAD - and we had plenty of stony roads (surely they're everywhere in Aus) but the wrap did it's job. I did get a windscreen chip, which was perfectly repaired by Instant Windscreens in Artarmon and is now invisible - unlike the poor job done by Windscreens O'Brien. In hindsight, I shouldn't have bothered with the bonnet half-wrap, because the shape of the 575 seems to concentrate the damage to the lower front bar.
Come on ya big blouse - it takes one day per year to clean all 4 corners. Or any detailing place would do it for you for less than $1000
Which bit am I wrong about? The GTR isn't built like a tank? The last GG I went on was with a Porsche, and I spent the whole time being VERY glad that I was partaking in a car that's built like a tank. (and that I didn't care about)
It's been about 2 months since it left the garage, I'm spending too much time in Melbourne, should leave it down there
you can buy glass polish to remove surface scratches. I had to do the Daytona a few times because it had really deep wiper scratches. Came up 95% clear.
Rubbish. You don't even notice the joins, and the peace of mind is worth it anyway. yeah...that bit sucks, but only takes a couple of hours....or at least it would if your suspension didn't have so much rust on it. Not a scratch on my car from GAD either. Thanks again Ian...it was terrific. I got a small one which I'm not bothered by. I'm talking about screen chips, btw He has all the time in the world to stuff around with a Z3, though! Priorities!
