Slow qualifying, car spun on lap 3 at Siberia so yellow flags there till the end.

I'm 6th, on the 3rd row, hopefully can work up a few places over the course of 4 races.

Slightly flat spotted my front right at MG so have a vibration now, should reduce as the tyre wears.

Really enjoying the meeting, such a great circuit.

My turn to catch fire, after the moron pit lane Marshall held me on my return from race 1. Exhaust set fire to carbon fibre end plate, will be an expensive repair.

The flame appeared to be about 1 foot long
The firies were about to douse the rear end of the car in powder or foam and Kiai told them “politely” to go away

It worked, 5th to 2nd in race 2

 

Nobody protested the altered aero?

 

Race 3 was a disaster, lost 5th gear on the 2nd lap, then overshot Honda while I was trying to work out the gearbox. Rejoined and finished with only 4 speeds, several places down.

I pulled the cluster out in the pit garage, dog ring gone and the dogs on the gear itself none to flash. Reassembled with a new dog ring and hopefully will get me through the 2 races tomorrow.

 

I can confirm that Kiai works - occasionally
