Reminds me of any number of 60's and 70's crashes where the tub went through the Armco and left most of the driver behind - very lucky boy and validates the halo.
Nice photo of DMWC. Relaxing as usual while I do the hard work torquing the wheel nut Image Unavailable, Please Login

Left side shock not holding gas pressure. They're made by Penske, would you believe there's a guy in Adelaide who services them with original parts.
No, full hard in the dry, full soft if wet. In 1986 the technology wasn't great, so there's little point in using the intermediate settings.
nature of the beast hard or soft . With the tin top OHOS i would always in the dry go middle of the road with settings and work my way up. The Porker I had one day at Sandown I screwed the shockers to max settings ...lasted one lap went from one bump to another on the road , was frightening up the back straight . Do you play with spring rates ?
No need, the car was well setup by the previous owner (he had a bunch of lap records in the states) and always had a balance that I like (sharp turn in, touch of oversteer on the exit) so I haven't fuchsed with it. Most of my setup effort has been optimising tyre temperature and contact patch. With the change to Hoosier radials, I feel that I've finally got everything working properly.
I would have thought with a car like yours, the spring setup is probably more about dealing with the down forces generated by the aero more than bumps and roll etc. You wouldn't want to mess with that too much, would be pretty unpleasant if the car loosened up halfway through turn one at SMSP or PI
