IHI RH series X9L, it's a large and heavy lump and there are better modern alternatives, but I try to keep the car as correct as possible. IHI have long since stopped making parts for it but John at Precision Turbos says he has a source of NOS parts. Fingers crossed, otherwise I'll be hunting for a good used one in the states.
How about keep the correct one in a box, to go with the car, and instal a modern one, if that doesn't put you out of class...
Not that simple unfortunately. Modern turbos spool up faster. The mechanical injection has inter-dependencies in fuel flow and exhaust back pressure, calibrated to revs, throttle position, etc. It's a very analogue system. Would take a lot of dyno time to get right.
