porker driver's idea of standard is there is nothing left in the car to throw out, I saw your SC car on the 3 peaks rally and it was stripped out, I liked the way it was set up but I'll bet it weighed < 1000kg

 

and that car in the PCC was classed as modified.It had to run against cars on slicks ect and oh it did a 1.53 on R series tyres at Phillip island.
face it a 308 is a dog on the track.

How much do they weigh compared to a 1977 porsche, and aren't the brakes the same?

to me it looks like the 911sc had about 180hp and has a kerb weight of 1250kg compared to Ferrari 250hp and kerb weight of 1260kg.

Let's be honest here.....the porsche wouldn't have seen which way the ferrari went back in 1977.

 

I drove SCs when they were new cars and around a track the Porsche would be seconds in front.
Were they had the Ferrari was in the tyres.
7 and 8 inch wheels with P7s was a factory option.Game over.

its hard to explain tyre profiles to you,as you have never raced.

The ones I know of seem to have been a second or so slower than normal. High winds?

I'm told the track was very clean and fast.it had been cleaned a couple of days before hand for a corp day.

have you ever down there in heavy wind? knocks a ship load of speed off.

obviously no eye deer.

 

lets see many historic meetings,State rounds and State championship november meeting ,been there many many times.Never found the wind an issue,but then again I drove 500hp plus cars.

lol....i wasn't talk about brett...how could i say he was slower than usual if he's never been there before?? dumbo! i SAID other people I know were slower than usual, and I know when i've been there in strong wind I've been slower too. it's obvious to anyone who's not dumb.

No. Never any issues, apart from Jags getting in the way in the early days....then I moved to Porsche Club for some competition at last.
