So I have raced 348, 360 and 430 Challenges in historic racing with my own team and found them quite easy to maintain and support.
I was wondering how difficult it would be to support a 458 Challenge? Does it require Ferrari specific electronics and laptop?
I have been told that the 488 Challenge requires support from Ferrari.
P.S. I raced a 488 in the series and used a franchised dealer for support.

Define support. We’ve been running 488 ourselves thus far but do have to get a subscription for SYSMA.

"Define support" is the right answer. I know the 355 different, but really how much so if having it track prepped before weekend and change tires yourself. I did that often with the 355 Challenge and if nothing broke was just fine. Is there anything on the 458 you are required to do each day besides change tires? Heck, the way I did it self supported I only couldn't run if something broke. Well, I was paying Universal Autosports $10k at a race and lost the alternator, did they have a spare to help me for that $10k? Nope, so it was no value added than me just showing up myself.

If you ran and supported a 360 and 430 Challenge with success I believe you can do the same with 458. Highly reliable. You do need the VCI tool which is around $10,000 used and a little more new. This is the only scan tool that can access the dash and a lot of key data. If you ever had the DCT issue and repaired you may need the Marriage file from Ferrari Portal. Great cars.
