Track tire recomendations

    I raced a 355 Challenge for a couple years. My advice is Hoosiers for a beginner. They have a radial slick tire with grooves R series. I would call Hoosier direct. Hot pressure at 27 psi do not go over 32 psi. Might have to start at 19 psi. Start slow stay off the curbs and warm up the tires. Always replace all the tires at the same time.
    Your other concern should be brake pads and brake fluid. I would change the brake fluid to a Super blue or another high heat fluid.
    The pads need to be changed also.

    The tires are the only thing connecting you to the track. Most important and brakes are the only thing stopping the car.

    I'm tracking my 348 for the first time tomorrow. DE. I'm leaving the mounted 19" Hoosier R8s on the rack after reading this thread.

    Great news. Start slow and build speed with street cars. Don't drag the brakes. Hard brake and release.
