Taking my 360 6-sp to a small track in 2 weeks time. it is a small track, so lots of small turns. I wasn't going to mod the car since I wasn't planning to drive too hard on the track.
But it is the drive to the destination that worries me, you can go REALLY fast on these highway, flooring it for a few minutes, refueling every half an hour... totally Gumball style!
So I am going to change the brake rotor to a bigger size, racing pads, fluids, maybe some tires too... and definitely duct tape the whole car!

Ray. What track? Sounds like you're more worried about the ride to the track than the track itself. Of course, you don't have to drive like that on the way to the track. Many here would suggest you save that type of driving until you're on the track... I would agree.

    Have fun...

Rather than duct tape, the floor protective film they sell at Lowes for home improvement jobs works well. It spoils track pictures if you plan on having somebody take them though.
I am sooo nervous to beat on my 360 at the track. I know, I know, that's what they're made for. I just do not want to part with 10k for a new clutch!
Have fun and enjoy. The world is coming to an end 2012!

I already have clear-bra, but I will still need the duct tape. it is pain in ass removing the sticky stuff after. I will look into the floor protective film, is it better than duct tape in terms of protection, ease of application, removal? Thanks for the advice!

Don't use duct tape. Would be a pain the butt to take off. Also, look for the blue painters tape at like a Home Depot or Lowes. Goes on and off real easy and does not leave any sticky residue like duct tape would.

    My 02c, FWIW:

You're gonna get *many* more stone chips etc from the drive to & from the track than on it - Race tracks are "clean" - in general at least. [Throw it off the track and things change, but it doesn't sound like you're about to do that......;)]

Don't worry about it! - Any pix look ridiculous with painters tape/duct tape etc stuck all over the thing - It's just a car - Take it to the track and enjoy! You'll do more "damage" driving it there and back IMHO.....

Brakes OTOH are certainly worth your attention - I *destroyed* the OEM rotors in one day - They were replaced with drilled Brembos and they cracked. Got some Girodisc slotted rotors on there now and so far so good..... For sure, new fluid and pads - If you brake hard they'll still fade, but "gently" - If you feel that, do a cool down lap (no brakes) and don't engage the handbrake when you stop.

    Cheers,
    Ian

ok I will definitely install the bigger rotor. I have oem p-zero rosso tires I am considering to replace with BridgeStone RE11.
The painters tape I find here are not durable enough, I think it is made of paper. I will go search again.
Windsheild is another problem on the highway, 2 cars windsheilds cracked last year's trip. I will just need to keep at least 20 car length distance.

Just use two (or three) layers of masking tape if you're worried about rock chips on the bumper. As far as brakes go, simi-racing pads along should be sufficient if you're just running beginner or intermediate. Just make sure all of your fluids are up to date, and you'll be fine. Nothing wrong with your current street tires or brake system unless you're in advance. Focus on your driving first before the car. Have fun!

Guys: the reason why raywong worries is because we travell all the way to China doing nearly 300km/h, and we drive pretty close to each other coz we afraid of getting lost China.

the duct tape issue is to protect the clear bra but no the paint of the car, this is all what we do in our team. if there is another better material, please advise. in my experience, the sand and stone actually doing a lot of damage to the clear bra, it becomes like the sand blass effect after doing 300 for 15 mins for the clear bra.

    Team mate...
