It would probally be a lot easier just to sell the Diable then go buy the GT. Good luck and post pics when you get it.

Doing a trade offers several tax benefits vs selling and re-purchasing.

Unless you live in the People's Republik...we pay sales tax on any car purchase, new or used, private party or dealer on the full purchase price of the vehicle. If a trade is considered, sales tax is based on the price of the car vs. the difference between the new car and the trade (like other states I've lived in)... Argh.

not if u live (or title it) in a state that doesn't charge sales tax.

in Indiana say you trade a 150k GT for a 200k 6.0 you only pay tax on the difference, 50k

Yes, which is exactly what he's talking about. It's the "benefit" to trading a car in.

But Vince lives in CA... We don't pay tax on the difference - we pay tax on the price of the new car.

Ben and I live in FL so we don't have to worry about that. :p

For those who want the specific States: California, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, and Michigan have to pay sales tax on price regardless of a trade-in. Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon have no sales tax on cars. The rest apply net sales tax for trade-ins.

ive seen it, and its nice
my hearts set on a pearl yellow one
though Im too the point I might just a get a silver/red/orange one for now until a yellow is availible
the silver seats are a lil iffy for me, as is the rear camera in the tail lense area rather then the grill
but for that price I may just be able to make the sacrifice till a yellow comes around..... Im thinking about :)

OR, you can buy a car through me a LICENSED Dealer in Washington State,
#2546-A and ALL tax issues can be worked out, regardless of the State.....

But only on a purchase not a lease contract.

Have several new cars coming this week, keep your eyes open n the web....

    posting soon.

And won't CA require a smog test too?

The current Ford is called a GT not GT40, but I know what you meant.
