Crazy Chris is just being stubborn and is not listening to any sane explanations!
Yes! I know where my passion is and will always be.... There is a forum about NSX? It's called the Primer or something? I can't seem to find it. I want to do a little research....After I take the 348 out for spin! See you guys a little later Have a great Sunday! And be thankful for everything you have!
"Buhuu it has a V6" Yeah? Well a F430 doesn't exactly have a V12 in the back, does it make the car any less complete?? VTC: www.nsxprime.com
Chris... I can only say one thing... and I can't say it any better than this guy... this link NOT SAFE FOR WORK or kids http://tinyurl.com/2xsar8
I can personally talk on this issue because I own a 91 NSX...and in my opinion - if you can afford the 348 then keep it...however, if you want reliability, then go for the NSX, but add some mods!! Most of us on nsxprime.com have modded NSX's - mine has a Wings West body kit that gives it a 355 look. I believe that you will find that most NSX owners honor and respect Ferraris - I for one do...but I have other interests like purchasing horses and I really do not have the money to be dolling out to a dealership every time my car has issues. To the high-end Ferrari crowd that can own the Enzos and Modenas - the notion of an NSX is a joke, for they don't bat an eye when they need to get anything done on their car...I am very busy and I do not do anything on my car - and I am always amused when I can get an oil change done on it for the same price as a regular car - and then blow them away on the highway!!!...lol...In the end, it does come down to finances - if you can afford to own the 348...or even move on to a 355 - then do so...they are both awesome machines!! I for one cannot afford them and have modded (or actually bought it modded...lol) to resemble the looks of a 355! Interestingly enough, we have had some people on Prime sell their newer model NSX for Ferrari, but most have moved towards Lamborghinis...and some have come back with horror stories - mostly about breakdowns and cost of maintenance!! The NSX runs into expense when you replace the waterpump and timing belt...and the rear tires...lol...the NSX actually burns the rears off in a shockingly short period of time!!...showing that it does have great power coming from behind your head...but as I said earlier...the mods really help the NSX...mine has a suspension that I can lower, an after-market exhaust, a full body kit and 18/19 wheels. I realize that there is an ego thing at work also...as the Ferrari carries with it a great tradition and a code that is reflected in its badge...all great things!! Enjoy the journey brother!! Dam
What he said. Imagine you're driving along in your NSX, stroking the airbag cover on the steering wheel and admiring your 'Powered by Honda' windscreen decal. Then a Ferrari roars up beside you. By this point, you've sold out your Ferrari dream for mere cash. Will you feel like a has-been loser, staring longingly at the sculpted Italian beauty next to you, soaking in the symphony of the flat-plane crank and the delicate Latin features of one of those rare and legendary cars from Maranello (one of those rare and legendary cars that you've replaced by a Consumer Reports recommend replacement for an exotic)? Or, will you hold up your last service bill from Jiffy Lube, flip the guy off, and let forth a passionate yell: "I'm saving money!! My car is very reliable!!" It's up to you. Life is short. Don't blow it.
Come on...I can't believe there are 4 pages on this topic. Drop the NSX thing already. Its NOT a Ferrari. If you want a NSX then get one in addition to the F-car. Drive the Ferrari while you work on tearing out the front wheel drive mid mounted minivan V6. Turn the engine the right way and hang acouple turbos on it.
It's RWD and yes you can fit turbo's on it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2dTYqWl7jI Can't say it sounds bad either.
Whats wrong with the 05 NSX? Have it looked at, if it checks out do it! If you do not like it, sell it. With those miles its an easy $70,000.00 Maybe your thread should read: "Would you sell your 348 for $70,000.00?" As thats what your really asking.
Think about it, it's a Honda. They make decent commuter cars, but everything they make is mass produced for basic transportation. The NSX is no different. You WILL regret it when a 348 cruises next to you, even if you could go faster and corner better.
You are right Chris..... you and I are the only sane people.... I am with you all the way on your decision to get an NSX...... and I will tell you what you want to hear..........because I am your friend....... ........ !!!!! Go for the NSX Chris!!!!!!! You won't regret it!!!!!! !!!! Its been a long time since we have had an NSX vs 348 thread....... thanks for the memories Chris.... !!! Jon your reasoning is sound and has great forethought............. but Chris is on the 'grass is greener somewhere else' mode now.......... lets not remove his 'beer goggles'............. then we can make fun of him later for dancing and who knows what else .......with the "fat girls".... ............. !!!! NSX PRIME RULES!!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nope, that looks like going backwards to me! But than again, I`ve heard of people buying a LADA and feeling happy with it, so who am I to judge?! Ben Holland
Hey Bullfighter...the only thing "bull" is the BS that is written in your post! I never said nor had a "Ferrari dream" - you did - and NO, I do not take my car to a JIffy Lube...or have some F$%%$ed up decal on my window or car! As for Consumer Reports...lol...I chose my car because I chose the car...just like having written a book...I do things for myself...you maybe the follower...but your cutting remarks about the NSX should not be directed at the person who owns it! Just remember...that the NSX caused Lamborghini and Ferrari to change how they looked at their cars - and thats no bullsh^^t! PS...as for rarity...there 10x as many Ferraris as NSXs in Calgary...lol...they sure are rare...you sure know your stuff!! Dam
Seriously, why an NSX? Given the cash from a 348 sale, I'd much rather take a new Nissan GTR. The NSX was cool when it came out for a safe, reliable fun car (if not a bit down on power). But what does it have now over the new Japanese high end cars? Heck I'd take a Vette Z06 or Viper way before an NSX. Not trying to ruffle any feathers here, but as posted above think of it as $xx,xxx in your pocket and look at everything that's out there.
