After much debate and emotion... I decided to trade in the 458 for a 2014 spider... Let's see how the 16 months of waiting time will be... White with red interior and shields.. That's it...
Congrats mate. That would be a very long difficult wait. I think the wait would make you miss the 458 coupe more, or even regret the trade. In 16 months tho, you would be a very happy man. I love your color choice.
I have another toy that has been neglected since the 458 arrived... It's her turn for the next 16 months...
Congratulations and what a wait! But at least you are getting one! On the bright side, your wait could be longer.
Why not keep the 458 coupe until the spider arrives, trade it when you take delivery in 2014. How many miles are on the coupe?
Trading in the 458 with 1279 miles and 15 k over what I paid was the deal in order to get the first 2014 spider... their terms, I just figured it was the best deal available... If I waited they offered a spot for the spider 3 yrs out...
Wow, so if I understand this correctly you've given up your 458 and now are without a ferrari. You will now have to wait 16 months (plus or minus) before getting a 458 spider. That seems like a long time to be in the penalty box
you are correct... I had the option of a mid/late 2013 spider, but felt it would be better to have the first 2014 (I am also a bit superstitious about 13)......
The only option I selected was Shields, so the seats are the standard ones in red leather... same as my 458
Is it just me as I dont mean to throw a spanner into this, but, is this even true what is being said. That a dealer is paying $15K as a trade over sticker, the key word here being trade? Did he mean consignment?
No... They paid me 15K over and let me but the spider at regular price... In my opinion, since my car had very few options (almost none), thats why this was doable... The cars with high options tend to depreciate faster... my 2 cents...
