I am considering trading my 1999 355 F1 for a 2005 612. The 355 has undergone a major mechanical restoration by my Ferrari dealer. I put approximately $25K into the 355 with engine out service, clutch, F1 conversion, wheels, calipers, tires, and engine paint work.

There is a 2005 612 with low miles (10K) at my dealer.

While very familiar with the issues of the 355, I am new to the 612.

Would appreciate a bullet list of issues to look for...

    Thanks !

    Sticky interior bits

    Ball Joints
    Clutch wear

With only 10k on the odo, I'd expect the mechanicals are probably fine.

tranny fluid might leak from bad or shrinking seals.
easy to break windshield from flying pebbles, wrap the OUTside of the windshield with tint. It does wonders.

Someone posted an article from Forza magazine relatively recently that detailed the common issues with 612's at the end of the article- Worth a look- you can search it here on FChat
