OMG how horrible. Vintage cars can be dangerous. The car had seat belts. Why wasn't he wearing them at the time?

Might have saved his life. But, a frontal impact probably drove the steering wheel into his chest and him out of the car.

Can someone explain how the driver was 'partially ejected' ?

is that similar to 'a little pregnant' ?

70 cars in an event, there must have been police presence. Was it an animal across the road, a faulty car, a driver health issue?

I hate journalists who can`t write a complete story

Oh, and the journalist had to add: 'CHP officials do not believe alcohol was a factor in the accident'. so maybe he was texting

    Lots of words, and drama,

My condolences to friends and family.

49 jag. Most likely left hand drive. He hit a tree on the left side. My guess is steering wheel partially ejected him. Seat belts would not have saved him if that happened.

Very sad. We forget all the modern safety stuff we take for granted. Those cars have ordinary plate glass windows too. No safety glass.

From the photo the car appears to be a pre-war Jaguar SS-100, RHD.

    Tragic.

I wonder if something broke on the car and it veered of the road.

Probably lap belts only. It's difficult or impossible to retrofit three-point belts in many vintage roadsters for street use.
