I want to put a winch in my enclosed trailer. I've got the power and mounting point issues figured out but need some advice on the winch to use. It does not seem like it would take a very heavy rating to pull a car in although getting enough line length in a lighter winch seems tough to find. What winches has anybody used and what rating. Thanks.

on the one we are having made, we are using the WARN 3000 pound winch, with a ramsey trailer winch harness, since we only transport light cars it will work just for us.

our excursion has a 12,000 pound winch from warner, extremely well made, and very useful, you may not weight 12,000 pounds but you never know what you may need to pull and all...i would go with about a 6,000 or 8,000 pounder to be safe but go warner, they are the best
