Tranny idiot light

    I have a 1999 355 f1 and recently when i shift either into gears or in neutral the idiot light will beep and light up for a split second. This happens intermittingly. This all coincides with a possible bad battery or alternator. Can a bad battery cause this? Thanks

    Have you checked the fluid level in your tranny?

    A bad battery, depending on the type of internal fault, could cause all sorts of seemingly random electrical problems/signals.

    Then again, the idiot light might be correct about the tranny problem.

    The fluid level is good and the tranny seems to shift fine depite the annoying beep/light. the funny thing is this all happened the day the cap to the tranny fluid was opened. Could it be air in the system?

    I would check to see if the cap is tight again ;) A long shot but....:confused:
