I noticed oil has been leaking from a bolt on the differential flange. And that bolt was not very tight. I believe I just need to torque the bolt to spec (78 NM). I wanted replace the oil that leaked out, but I don't see how. I removed the flange bolts and pulled back the axle. It appears to be gear oil, I was expecting it to be packed with grease. How do replace the missing lube ?

Photo #1 shows the signs of a leak
Photo #2 shows flange bolts removed and axle pulled back.

Time to go to a shop IMO. Yes should be grease , well that's what I have seen in other cars. Also looks like your boot has a rip

I unbolted the transaxle at the differential flange and it appears the CV is a sealed unit. I wasn't up for a major disassembly since only some of the grease was lost. In the future I will inspect this CV joint when I change the oil.

Photos show the adapter I made to torque the bolts. I also made the necessary calculations to compensate for the offset.

In my original post, the boot appeared torn, but it's just a fold molded in the rubber.
