If they are incorrect then they should take them back but unfortunately my experience with them isn't good as with lots of others on this site. Are they a 308 part?

A Friend of mine bought 2nd gear from them and it was the same, seems like there quality is well below average or worse and really deserve bad publicity if nothing is done to rectify the problem

If I was you I would tell them that this will brought to the attention of Ferrari owners worldwide if they choose to do nothing.

As for validating the parts I don't know, but it seems to me that the part is a bad copy of the original with DCN etched into the metal rather than the more bolder font of the original

The difficulty and lack of understanding these people have of reproducing parts is they are taking measurements from a already worn part, unless you have the correct technical info / drawings such as helix angles etc then any gear is extremely difficult to make.

Thank you for your info. I'll try to talk to them and see if they would take them back.

    Hello Mel,

I have a similar problem with a set bought from Superformance. They are impossible to drive because they make incredible noise.... fitting is ok.
I will take them out again within the next 4 weeks and will put original ones back in.
I sent my original ones to a specialist here in Germany to optimize them (less noise). Let's see if this was successful. If not, I might have to do some reproductions. If I do three sets, the cost per set will be approx. Euro 3000,- . It was naïve to believe the GBP 400,- set from Superforance will work out....
In general it's so sad the quality of replacement parts is getting worse and worse....
More precise updates to follow ....

    Regards Matthias

Surprised by this Mathias as I know the transfer gears from Superformance were made by Quaife who must be one of the recognised world experts in gearbox design manufacturing and technology.

The gears cost considerably more to make and I believe SF sold at a loss due to low uptake in the part. I think the automotive term is a "loss leader"

The gears I fitted to a friends dino were perfect......bearings OK?

    Hello Tony,

I put my original set of transfer gears (optimized polish, see picture) back in the Dino.
    Perfect, no noise any longer.
I will send the Superformance set back and ask for refund.
Tony, believe me, with the Superformance set the Dino was impossible to drive, incrediable noise. If you just roll two Superformance gears in your hands you can feel the rough going, if you compare with the original ones.
Unfortunately very bad quality.... caused lots of trouble and work on my side...

    Regards Matthias

Sopunds like you hadn't tried to ask about returning them prior to posting?

I've had to return items to GT Car Parts, Superformance and Dino Parts and all have been willing to accept them and credit me. That being said, after spending thousands (if not tens of thousands of dollars) I have mostly been happy.

On two occasions Jorg at Dino Parts has acknowledged his mistake and told me to keep the items and he will ship the correct size (transaxle ring nut tool, hose) at his expense.

Recently I got rod bearings from GT Car Parts (generic, out of tolerance) then asked Superformance before buying, fully explaining what I had gotten from GT Car parts and even asked Superformance to measure prior. I was very surprised when I received the same generic manufacturer, way out of tolerance product and no offer by Superformance to cover my shipping return costs.

Again, I have spent tens of thousands of dollars and am happy with all three major suppliers, glad they support our passion but I realize that returns do happen.

Problems happen Mathias, you should return them if incorrect, I can only tell you my experience with them which was good. Unfortunately in the quest to get parts cheaper some just cut corners with bad consequences.

The shafts on the gear you show seem to be "stressed" and would lead to strain on the roller bearings

If the teeth are still ok you can have the bearing surfaces sleeved.

Have done some recently and worked very well.

    Greetings,

    Charles
