Try to re-install the software...or try it without the software

Are you using Vista, maybe it isn't compatible yet. Try on an XP computer or a Mac.

The problems with the RAZR phones lies in the USB driver. Various ones work with various software. The cable doesn't matter - even one from a digital camera will work, but the driver... that's the tricky part. Do some research on howardforums.com to find a solution.

I have a Razr phone and the Motorloa Phone Tools software and it works very well for me (my computer is running XP).
I can transfer photos, sound clips, and video clips between my phone and computer with no problems at all.
You bring up the software on your computer before connecting the phone to the computer with the USB cable.
Are you using the Motorola Phone Tools software?

You'll get full resolution from your pics on your RAZR if you just send them as a "picture text" to your e-mail, by putting your e-mail address. as the recipient

If Bitpim supports the Razr, then you could try that program. Also, does the razr save the pics taken to something like a mini-sd card? You could pop the card out of the phone and then put it into a card reader attached to the computer and download the pics from there.

+1 to Yoda's comment about the SD card- particularly since the USB download ability may be deleted/restricted by the wireless provider.
