Transition vehicle to F430

    I've decided to upgrade one of the toys (04 z06 corvette) to an F430 or even possibly 458. I'm going to spend 2015 shopping and get the car in early 2016 when an investment matures.

    In the meantime, any suggestions for an intermediate car? Trade the vette for something cooler, then the intermediate car for the F430.

    355? 512? Other makes? Any F car will hold decent value for a year towards the 430. Any experience would be much appreciated. I'm not too keen on Porsche, but open to any experience.

    get a 360...only problem is that you might not want the 430 after owning the best :)

    To be serious as a temporary car, I would look at the new Jag F-type, you can get a convertible that is a year old with the depreciation hit taken by the original owner, but unfortunately the Coupe is too new for that. I think that the F-type coupe will be my replacement car for my 360 someday. Or staying with Ferrari look for a nice 328, completely different car than the 430, you will really appreciate the 430 coming from a 328 and the 328 is for all practical purposes level on depreciation, you will sell it for what you bought it for in a year (more or less anyway). There is always a nice Aston Martin too, something 2-5 years old but if I had one, I probably would not get a 430 after a Aston.

    The 360 choice makes a lot of sense...especially if you end up liking it. If that is too steep for the interim I might consider a different mid engine car. A cayman S or R.

    360 seems to be a good idea. I've driven the 430 and love it, especially coming out of a z06. What seems to be the draw of a 360 over a 430?
