    Well, I have put this on my list of things that need to get done. In doing my research I have found that there are 2 ways to put the fluid back in.

    1) The manual to fill until the fluid reaches the fill hole (~4qts). Then add ~4oz more into the transfer case.

    2) I have seen several people say to just fill the entire amount into the transfer case.

    Are both methods ok to do?

    I find it easier to pull the back plug, with a pan under it, then fill the whole works from the top side with a long funell. The car must be level. Fill untill it just overflows the back plug hole.

    Yes, but, for Method #1, it's better to put the ~few ounces into the transfer gear case fill hole first (in case you put in a little too much and some of it overflows some into the main reservoir), then fill the main reservoir last.

    Method #2 is a little more mistake-proof, but by the time you get something to come out the main fill hole, you will have overfilled it a little so you might waste an ounce, or two, as it continues to run out the main fill hole.

    putting a hose on the funnel and pouring in from above helps vs trying to get funnel into the fill holes
