Last minute plan (at least to ship a car cross country): spending Dec 26 - 31 in LA, and would love to have my 456 there for this trip. Does anyone know of a reputable transport company that can collect my 456 in Toronto (or Buffalo) after December 15, and have it in LA by December 26 or sooner?

Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Reach out to Jim at Intercity. I've never used them (tried a bunch of times). They has a great rep. Buffalo (I live south 25 minutes) is not a great route for these guys.

That is a tight schedule, but Intercity are the folks. They're the only company I let move my cars. Call Jim, he's worked some very tough moves for me. Can't say enough about them.

    Thanks!

Called Intercity; cannot do it until January... I know it is the 11th hour but hoping something will present itself

    A few improvised thoughts....

I"m going to assume that driving the car into the US as a tourist and having it picked up there is going to be WAY easier than to have a 3rd party import it and potentially deal with customs - which is why I think you suggested Buffalo

Additionally, the Buffalo-LA route probably gets the service it deserves (not much, as low volume), you might want to check into Buffalo-Chicago-LA, Newark-LA (eg. a lot of transport companies run port-to-port). you may have to improvise your own Buffalo-to-(X) shipping, and I"m sure that adds stress, complexity and risk...

I would imagine Horseless has trucks going from Newark to SoCal, a long shot might be to call Ferrari of Ontario and see if you could grab space on one the FNA routes, you'd just have to get your car down to FAPS at Newark

good luck, let us know what you figure out

TFX has done a good job for me twice, since Intercity doesn't really do across the border (or didn't at the time). Took care of customs and all, but they were purchases, not temp transports - which might make a difference.

    Tkx for the suggestions.

Already tried with TFX and Horseless; both cannot deliver in time for Christmas. Have sent an email to Jim at InterCity in case he can pull a rabbit out of a hat...

Have talked to Ferrari of Ontario, to use TFX to take to NJ (where in-coming new cars for the Canadian market arrive) and then ship to CA via another carrier doing that route; to many things to coordinate and not enough time. No-one can guarantee delivery to LA by Dec 25

It wouldn't be cheap, but perhaps you could ship across Canada, to Vancouver and then south. Both legs of that journey would be more common so catching a transporter might be easier... Again, wouldn't be cheap.

I know it's not "your" Ferrari, but surely you could rent something in LA for less than the round trip for your 456... Would be a great way to try something new / different, like a spyder, up and down the canyons, PCH, etc... :D

Thanks for the suggestions and input. At this point, it doesn't look like it will happen, and I will rent while there. Problem with the range of F-cars currently on offer is none can accomodate a child seat (we have a 2 year old), not even the California (way too small in the back).

Some options on a Ghibli, or 63-AMG. Not the same but I can't complain.

    Thanks again!

    1. Call L. Hansen Forwarding in Scarborough, it will take one week to get to Vancouver by rail.
    2. Fly there, and drive to Seattle.
    3. Get it on the Seattle-LAX trucking route.

Honestly you should just rent a newer Ferrari there in LA.

Considering the $4k it will run you to ship both ways coast-to-coast, it's worth the lack of stress and hassle.
