Traveling to Australia & NZ, are cigars overpriced there??

    I leave in a week for a 2-week business trip visiting Australia & New Zealand.

    I'm a daily cigar smoker and would hope to be smoking daily Cuban Cohibas and other good stuff on my trip.

    Does anyone know how overpriced they are there versus other countries?

    I'm not too interested in smuggling anything as I can have good access but would like to enjoy them while there.

    Heya mate, yep. VERY overpriced here in Australia. :D:D

    I suggest bringing a box or two with you and buy what you want when you are here. :):)

    Im pretty sure you are allowed 2 boxes of cigars into the Country or 2 cartons of cigarettes. :):)

    I had a friend bring me back some Cohibas from Mexico last year. Cost me AU $50 for a box of 5. I pay AU $35 for one cigar here in Australia. :(:(

    I would bring some with you and if you run out, buy a couple here. :):)

    Where abouts are you visiting in Australia Marc? :):)

    Thanks for the info, PAP.

    I checked a few weeks ago to see how close I'd be going to Mount Isa and unfortunately not close at all.

    I'll be in Sydney, Melbourne, and several rural locations between. I'll drive the full distance between.

    In NZ, I'll be in Wellington, Rotorua, and Auckland...also driving between. Should see lots of countryside in both countries.

    Wish I had more time!

    Ah, such a shame. Sydney-Melb is a LONG way from Mount Isa alright! :D:D

    I hope you enjoy your visit to Australia Marc! I am sure you are going to love it! :D:D

    There are some nice chaps in the Aussie section of Fchat that live in Sydney and Melbourne. Perhaps visit the Aussie section as there may be a drive or something going on while you're here. :):)
