OK, I'm confused. John kind of sold me on Sidekick the other night, especially when I found out Emil & others had one for messaging So, which does most of the crew have as I'd like to be compatible. Also, if not the sidekick, then what service do y'all use? thanks
i like my treo 600, messaging/phone/keyboard/features are all very good. t-mobile has not given me many problems here in nyc and in LA.
all i know is that u HAVE to get Verizon cell phone service. Tmobile, Sprint, & Cingular all sux azzzzzzz. They offer cheaper calling plans, but YOU ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!.....no service
yo zen i agree i have vthe treo on verizon and it is kick ass not only that the treo is comming out with the 650 which is bluetooth and that is going to be the sh#t.
so which one is better for simply net surfing?? sidekick or treo? suppose i am out, and all of sudden feel like logging onto ebay and bid on a ferrari and checking email on gmail, can either one handle the task??
Probably the Sidekick Mr. Wood. Buddy's at work have sidekicks and it's cool for PDA type stuff. It's damn clunky with regards to being a phone though. Seems like a major b!tch to dial a number as you have to slide the screen open to type/dial. Treo's are nice but the one Verizon is selling now is old as Rene pointed out. I wish they'd do a phone with wifi in it but then that digs into their greedy little pockets too much. Digressing... Does Sprint suck in the City Hubert? I'm doing Verizon right now but it drives me nuts how they are always 1-2 years behind with the phones they promote.
I agree with you on the phones Verizon promotes. BUT, the service is 100% undeniably superior than all other cellphone providers, which for me outweighs the ****ttty phones. why buy a cellphone when it wont work half the time when u are in buildings? answer: u dont pchop has sprint service: u might want to ask him about his personal experiences with it
if ur going with verizon then u can choose between the Blackberry or the treo. for just email and messaging u get the blackberry. for email, messaging, camera, a **** load of other things u get a treo
For awhile I thought Verizon started having bad service but it turns out it was just the crappy picture picture phone they sold me. Verizon is definitely one of the best with regards to coverage area.
Neither can handle gmail. Both can handle eBay. I bought my SideKick for AIM, Email and SSH. Data services are better on the sidekick, hands down.
I'm preordered for the Treo 650, which will be Bluetooth enabled and wifi capable. They will only make it for Sprint till next year. I currently have 8 sprint cells which work great in NYC. Built in cam ( low pix though) short videos, can play MP3 with expansion card. 320X320 display screen twice the download speed as current 600. http://web.palmone.com/products/smartphones/treo650/details.jhtml
i have the treo 600 through att/cingular and I'm a big fan. Although I did manage to break the screen last week, now that I know the 650 is coming out maybe i'll just wait and get that one. -ortiz
For business use, Blackberry is the best. I keep my phone and blackberry as two units so I do not always have to carry both on weekends.
They just upgraded my oreder by throwing in a Bluetooth wireless headset, no charge, and free 2 day Fed-Ex.
When I first saw the heading, I thought Clyde was asking for advice on choosing a small SUV. Tom (technologically challenged)
Beautiful! I know we were talking about it when we were at your place - glad you are taking the plunge Michael.
