I like to hang back and catch the cars actually driving into the show.

While they towed the AM around these guys blew the roof off when they drove by in their historic Pro Stockers. :D

Unless Aston Martin has changed drastically under
Dave Richards' ownership, TRG is going to find a vastly
    different corporate culture with AMR.

Where Porsche thrives on racing and squeezing every
bit of PR out of race wins and championships, on their
first entry at Sebring in 2006 with the DBR9s, it was
almost as though Aston Martin were embarassed to be
racing, first by throwing a wet blanket over the entire
entry, lowering expectations for the race and when they
won, there was barely mention of the resounding class
    victory in it's first race.

This approach struck many in the media rather odd.

Since Richards is a racing guy first and foremost, hopefully
for Kevin, this approach has changed.

It was the Orlando Festival of Speed held at the Ritz yesterday. Beautiful day at a beautiful venue that had everything from a perfect AM DB5 to Veyrons to the original Sox & Martin Pro Stocker. I took lots of pics and will hopefully have them ready to share later in the week :)

I am both confused and not well versed enough to understand where this car will race.

Will I see it at the Rolex 24 or at Sebring or both?

It will be seen in both Grand Am AND ALMS this year, then the merged series next year. The TRG press release made that clear. Three programs, GA GT, GA GS and ALMS GTE.

Let's hope this isn't another one of Kevin's "flights of the Phoenix" or is that Icarus?

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to see and photograph it at the track.

Here is another shot from yesterday and a couple of the new Vanquish that was also on display.
My friend that has driven just about everything got to take it for a short drive and was immediately impressed :)

I won't rub it in. What really matters is we got to spend the day outdoors on a perfect Florida day.Whether you walked around looking at Gators or a few hundred incredible cars as long as you had so much fun you wanted to take your shoes off at the end of the day I'd say it was a day well spent.

Warning: DO NOT look at these pictures :D

That cautious approach to motor racing fits exactly with Aston Martin's image.
    It's British, it's not flamboyant, it's deliberately under-stated.

Beside, AMR has taken quite a blow only last year by entering a brand-new LMP1 in the WEC, which turned out to be a massive flop.
It only appeared at Le Mans, and it was a complete disaster, so there is some humble pie to eat first.

Aston Martin is not in the best financial condition and is actively seeking an equity partner. I'm filing this racing PR blurb in the "believe it when I see it" drawer.

Any chance you could elaborate on that? I don't know Mr. Buckler, have never met him, but I do know a few people who have worked for him. Just curious about any history here.
I have noticed his attempts to market the lifestyle by selling event packages to fans do not seem to have been very successful at least that's the impression I have.

Seems like they've just found $240,000,000.
