I have a question regarding chargers.
I just stored my 456M for the winter. I found what looks like a trickle charger in the trunk of the car. It is an original ferari battery charger but was still wrapped in plastic.
I have doubts as to whether this is a trickle charger because as I installed it i noticed it does not plug in to the battery with standard clips on the poles of the battery. It plugs into a plug on the opposite side of the battery. Also, the lights did not go on. I was told this is normal because the battery is fully charged and the lights will go on only if and when it needs a charge.
Can anyone tell me if I have installed the right charger in the proper manner.

    Any help is appreciated.

If this is like a 612 charger then it is factory wired into a multi-pin plug near the battery. However it should show a "power" light at all times and a "charge" light when the battery needs or is receiving charge. But... If the battery is low on charge it will not activate the Ferrari charger. The battery has to be producing some voltage to get the charger to respond.

Often times an aftermarket maintainer is a better option.

Also, these are battery "Maintainers", not trickle chargers, per se. They will only maintain the battery at it's current level, but will not bring the charge up to full.
