I have been admiring Gerhard Richter's work for sometime and finally decided to give it a go myself The results are below. I actually really enjoyed the process, using acrylics and scrapers. I am calling it "Opposing Views", the 4 black vertical lines were accidental as well as the division of the two sides of color.
Thank you, we did hang it. My wife insisted at the front entrance next to our grand double doors. The doors are 8', its a big canvas. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ive been dabbling on the side with painting for 30 years or so. Finding time is tough. Plus I know my limitations - can’t do people, accurate still lifes, etc. Plus hate cleaning brushes. So like you I only use scrapers and other tools I can wipe off. Used to only use oils but recently got into acrylics. Big fan of abstract art. Keep it up, it looks great!
I like it Robert. I'm not terribly big into abstracts (I think I have 3 'true' abstracts, one of which is a Jonas Gerard), although I do have 7 Georgie Pocheptsov works, including his first ever self-portrait, which, if I'm being candid, is a little dark for a [then] four year-old. My second piece. I am really loving the process, the stages a piece goes thru before the final product. Image Unavailable, Please Login
