Hi all, Here is a video I made this weekend for fun. 1978 308 GTS - Carbs. The microphone was placed on the rear engine cover on the flat between the vents. You can hear the wind buffeting a bit too. Sorry about the clicks and pops...must be some audio conversion thing. Oh, note the Colorado trooper that was parked and ready to turn around. He was poised but I was being a good boy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJgY_0-1seo -Rjay
I have the same car. Note the way the steering wheel snaps to the straight position when accelerating out of a curve. Good ol' manual steering!!! Sounds wonderful. Appreciate your effort to produce and post the film. Yours, Tom
Really interesting to see the "shudder" that happens each time you upshift and let out the clutch. It must be the energy wave created by the change from coasting to accelerating.
Dave, Yea, that shudder. I was hoping it wouldn't come through but you guys have eagle eyes! Anyway, if I were better at shifting i.e. when I really pay attention, I can smooth that out a bit more, but it definitely does that when you are standing on it. Chiaroman, I don't even think about the manual steering but you're right, she snaps to center easily. I love the sound too. If you make it to the end of the video, notice her "cough". When she's cold, it sounds like a 357 magnum! Rjay
I sure hope your were double clutching and heal toe down shifting. You don;t to repalce that tranny. Good sounding car.
