I'm sure this has been asked before -but all my searches only found some pretty old threads....sooo.. I'm heading over to Italy in June to celebrate a mates birthday. We'll be staying in Bologna for a few days, and was looking at heading to the Ferrari Museums and/or factory. Has anyone been recently, and what's the recommendations? Maranello or Modena? Or both? (Time permitting). And is it worth lining up a factory tour as well? cheers
Stay away from Modena for accomodation as I stayed there 3 years ago and got caught in a badly designated ztl zone. Modena is just a rural town and the museum is there but be careful Maranello has a Ferrari themed hotel (forgotten it's name) which I loved but my partner thought was a little boy's place Go to the dealer and get the tour scheduled from Australia then book the trip accordingly Tour is very professional and free for the Ferrari owner and $250 for non-ferrari partners
I stayed in Bologna, caught the train to Modena then a cab to Maranello, very easy commute. Definitely do the factory tour, then have lunch across the road at Ristorante Cavallino. It’s been taken over by acclaimed chef Massimo Bottura recently so should be an excellent experience https://www.theupcoming.co.uk/2021/06/10/inside-massimo-botturas-new-ferrari-restaurant-cavallino-in-maranello/ And gee I haven’t aged at all Image Unavailable, Please Login
Look in the first 'General' section here there was someone looking to go only a few months ago plus many more not 'pretty old' eg https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/may-be-visiting-italy-for-a-work-meeting-some-factory-tour-questions.671311/
Contact your local dealer QUICKLY if you want a chance at a factory tour; they are closed in August. Maranello is actually a nice little town and some excellent food in the small local places as well as the big name restaurants.

And remember to have a "Cappuccino " in the afternoon, all classy Australian tourists DO.! It's expected.
I’m taking the tour in two weeks. I have an 812GTS in production (latest pics in paint). Does anyone know what Ferrari says about seeing your car at the factory when visiting? Regarding the visit, we have reservations at Cavallino, a recommendation from the dealer. Info about the restaurant is on Ferrari.com Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Go for a day visit the factory, drive or jump on a train to Switzerland, the food now served up in Italy is rubbish as for the small villages if viewing 3rd world poverty is your go do it,otherwise pay out the coin and enjoy Switzerland.Italy is not what it once was to be frank its rubbish.
Well - for what it's worth - we went and checked out both the Owners tour of the factory and the Museum as well. We enjoyed the tour, and I certainly think it was worthwhile. We also ate at Ristorante Cavallino, and enjoyed the food and service. Spotted a Daytona Sp3 driving through the grounds. That looked and sounded amazing. They were also testing what might be the 812 replacement on Fiorano - and watching that fly past and hearing it was pretty neat too.
Fortunately I'm not a cappuccino drinker, so I couldn't make that mistake. It was macchiatos and espressos all round. I also think I might have eaten my body weight in cured meats and cheeses.
